WSNs have several aplications such as militar survival, traffic control, building security, scientific research in other planets, etc. This project presents a communication protocol for wireless sensor networks based on the ant colony optimization metaheuristic, which uses artificial ant agents that recolects data from all sensor nodes of the network. Every ants fuzes data from a node and sends it to every other sensor and then to the base station. All ants look for a way to go where there is an energy eficient path.

the design of wireless sensor networks. Hybrid radio
frequency/free space optical wireless sensor networks (RF/FSO
WSN) have been proposed to reduce the energy consumption of
traditional RF-based sensor networks. This paper compares the
performance of such a hybrid sensor network against the wellknown
RF-based low energy adapting clustering hierarchy
(LEACH) WSN proposed in the literature. Network performance
is studied in terms of network lifetime and average network area
coverage. Simulations show that despite not employing data
aggregation, the RF/FSO WSN has a longer lifetime and larger
average network coverage when compared to the LEACH WSN

Description: The proposed routing protocol for Wireless Sensor Network is hierarchical and cluster based. The protocol supports mobility in the Sensor Nodes as well as in the Sink. The entire
protocol is described in terms of two phases namely Setup Phase and Data Forwarding Phase. After deployment of the Sensor Nodes entire sensor field in divided into some logical clusters and each cluster contains Sensor Nodes with different roles such as Gateway Node, Cluster Head Node and Ordinary Sensor Node.
Majority of the computation intensive tasks are carried out in the Sink. Simulation results show the energy efficiency of the proposed protocol. The performance of the proposed protocol
has been compared with that of CBR mobile WSN and results show better performance of the proposed protocol. Future scope of the work is outlined.
